General Research Training Requirements

General Laboratory Training 

The first module is at the (CITI) website. Make sure you find the module with the exact same name. 

Do not access CITI directly because Pitt cannot be selected as a participating institution.  Access CITI via Pitt Portal at www.citi.pitt.edu

  1.  Responsible Conduct of Research

Animal Research Training 

Personnel working with animals must also be enrolled in Animal Exposure Surveillance Program (AESP).

The form and instructions are available at www.ehs.pitt.edu/  under Biological Safety tab, animal use.

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)

For all work with recombinant DNA and associated technologies

Online site for IBC protocol preparation is MyIBC   www.myibc.pitt.edu/

To be listed in the MyIBC personnel database, PIs must take an NIH training module.  On the IBC website, above, the link for the training module is on the left-hand side of the page.
